Advertising Media

All advertising placed on CompuMarket is in the form of banner graphics appearing at the top of specific pages (outlined below). All banners must be supplied in GIF file format at a size of 470x70 pixels. All ads that are not 470x70 will be anamorphically scaled to 470x70 on the fly. Also, all ads must be no greater than 8,192 bytes in filesize.

A graphic can be animated (in fact, we encourage it), but if it is, the filesize still can't be greater than 8,192 bytes. In addition to this, a single sentence of alternate text of not more than 50 characters should be included with your ad. Ads not adhering to these few guidelines will not be implemented until all issues are resolved.

Advertising Locations

All ads appear at the top of the page. This offers the most effective method of generating a response by placing the ad before any other content. Ads are also centered on the page and have a blank line inserted between them and the content of the page.

All ads placed will be put in our standard rotation of ads that are displayed on the following pages:

• Main Homepage
• Browse Page
• Search Page
• Custom header output

Advertising Rates

Our ads are extremely competitively priced, especially considering how tight the rotation is. We don't try to spread ads out all over pages of an overly complex site, we just focus on those pages in our system which we feel get the most traffic. If we find that certain other pages are becoming more popular as time goes by, we might decide to put them into the rotation as well.
